President’s Message

CarePartners Foundation Annual ReportA man came to our office whose wife had recently passed away in CarePartners Inpatient Hospice.  After 53-year marriage and a life together filled with travel, laughter, and treasured time with family, James helped his beloved wife Margaret transition peacefully.  Margaret had been a quilter, and James was coming to tell us how much the quilts that hang throughout the John F. Keever Solace Center had comforted her and made her feel at home.  He visited just to say thank you, but he got me thinking about quilts and all that they represent for us here at CarePartners.

In fact, if I had to pick an art form to represent CarePartners Foundation, it would be a quilt.  Throughout many of the main areas of CarePartners Health Services, vibrant and stunning quilts adorn the hallways, patient rooms and family areas.  Each of them took countless hours to create, yet all of them were given freely o CarePartners Foundation for the enjoyment of patients in hospice, the rehabilitation hospital, adult day, and other services.  Thread and fabric join together to make these donated masterpieces, but their creation represents the coming together of other things too; time and skill, creative vision and action, individual effort and collective benefit.

In a larger sense, this coming together is what CarePartners Foundation is all about.  All gifts to CarePartners Foundation, large and small, join with others to create a community of support that is truly beautiful.  This collective generosity ensures, among other things, that no one is denied care due to inability to pay.  Like the quilts that hang throughout our spaces, this brings comfort to those in our community who need it most: the aged, the sick, the dying, and the grieving among us.

I hope you know what an important part of this you are, and how sincerely grateful we are for your partnership in this work.
